What is a PES file?
A PES file tells a compatible embroidery machine where to stitch and when to change thread. Gyldan also gives you a PNG preview of the stitch design.
Will it work with my machine?
Check that your machine reads PES files and supports your design’s dimensions. Gyldan defaults to a 3.5-inch design in a 100 × 100 mm hoop. Select the correct hoop and transfer the file using your machine’s usual software or USB process.
What images work best?
Start with clear artwork, readable lettering, and simple shapes. Tiny text, fine details, and gradients may need simplifying for embroidery. Upload artwork you own or have permission to use.
Can I change the preview or finished file?
Yes. Revise the artwork before approval, or add comments to generate a revised PES afterward. You can limit thread colors, change stitch density, or choose Improve for more processing. Each new processing run uses credits.
How much does it cost?
New customers can redeem $10 in credits after text verification, with no card required. Your design shows its total cost and tokens used as processing completes. Add credits when needed; there is no subscription. Improve may take longer and use more credits.
How long will my design take?
Timing depends on the artwork, detail, and quality settings. You can return to your saved design to check progress. The walkthrough is shortened and does not show real processing time.
Can I use Gyldan on my phone?
Yes. Open the studio in your phone’s browser. On iPhone, you can also add it to your Home Screen from Safari. The native iPhone app is being prepared for App Store release.
Do I need to test the file before sewing?
Yes. Review the stitch preview, check your machine’s size and thread assignments, and sew a sample using your intended fabric and stabilizer. A digital preview cannot predict every fabric or machine setting.
How do I return to my designs?
Sign in with the same customer passkey to see your credits and saved designs. Keep your private recovery code somewhere safe in case you lose access to your passkey.
